About
MEET CHARLOTTE POTTS
Thanks for stopping by! I am a TV journalist from Germany with over 15 years of experience. I currently work as the Chief political correspondent for a German news program in Berlin.

I'm passionate about reporting on politics (with a focus on Germany, UK, US, climate crisis) and telling people's stories. I thrive on breaking down global and complex stories by making them understandable, telling untold stories, and reporting on the political news of the day.

I have truly enjoyed working as an anchor for ZDF's morning show, Morgenmagazin. While working as a UK correspondent for DW News in London, I covered Brexit, Boris Johnson, the royal family and the Covid-19 pandemic. As a political correspondent for DW in Berlin, I covered the German elections, the refugee crisis in 2015 and the terror attack on the Berlin Christmas market, among other stories.

In my eight years as a producer for ARD and ZDF German Television in Washington, DC, I had the privilege to travel across the United States from Alaska to Mississippi and produce stories on a wide range of issues such as, the 2008 and 2012 US elections, the Guantanamo detainee camps, and the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings.

I am frequently invited on panels as a moderator or expert. In 2016, I published a book on left- and right-wing populism in the US. I received my MA in history, psychology and economics, and a PhD in political science.
